Since 1866 we’ve been bringing together the leading figures from the worlds of aerospace, aviation and space and we’re delighted to have you as part of the Royal Aeronautical Society. You follow in the footsteps of many of the brightest, ingenious and hard working individuals in the history of our fields.

Listen to podcasts which provides recordings from the Society’s discussions and talks at events and analysis of articles in AEROSPACE magazine in our NOTAM Podcast. We also provide access to Journals and Specialist papers published online in a range of topical subjects.
We’re also the proud owners of the National Aerospace Library with a full online e-Library service and access to the library in Farnborough.

RAeS Networks
Our volunteer-led Branches thrive as key hubs in aerospace, aviation and space, offering a wide range of local and regional activities.
The Women in Aviation, Aerospace and Space Committee (WAASC) works to support women working in all sectors of the industry. Activities include dedicate events, outreach and an alta mentoring network.
The Young Persons Network (YPN) brings together those in the early stages of their careers to support RAeS community groups, boards or committees and many activities.

The Society operates Specialist Groups which are run by member lead Committees. These are available to join and also host their own series of events and Specialist output.
You can also decide what communications you want to receive from the Society, whether it’s newsletters, updates from Specialist Groups or blogs.

Your Professional Development
All members have access to the RAeS Professional Development Platform, Aeroversity. Here you will gain access to courses, webinars, podcasts and recorded lectures. Through the platform, members also have access to an online initial and continuing professional development recording tool, MAPD - My Aero Professional Development.
Our dedicated careers team are available to provide tailored support, resources and opportunities through a dedicated jobs board and careers fair. Career Flightpath is our online tool which provides further resources and tools throughout your career.
If you’re an Engineer, the Society can also provide support and resources to help you on your journey to becoming a Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician.

The Society runs a range of lectures, conferences and networking opportunities which range a huge variety of topics. We attract some of the top industry speakers across the breadth of technical, engineering and business subjects affecting aerospace professionals.

Inspiring our Future
Falcon 2 Creativity Unleashed: The Falcon 2 programme empowers school children to channel their creativity into designing a revolutionary flight simulator. This initiative, involving 200 students from 13 schools, aims to provide a thrilling flying experience for both disabled and non-disabled individuals.
Project Altitude – Inspiring Futures: Project Altitude offers insights into the possibilities within our sectors. To date, over 2,300 students, including 500 from low-income families, have benefited from this initiative.
RAeS Presence: In 2023, RAeS left its mark at prestigious events, including RIAT, Duxford Air Show, and the Big Bang Fair. Additionally, RAeS connected with 3000 students at over 40 universities and colleges during fresher’s fairs in the same year.
Supporting Industry
End Point Assessment Excellence: In 2023, the End Point Assessment team, an IfATE approved and Ofqual regulation organisation, successfully conducted over 850 assessments, providing important sector-supporting services.
Dynamic Industry Engagement: Continuous engagement with our Corporate Partners fosters collaboration and advancement in our industries.
Global Partnership Network: Our network of over 350 industry, academic and charitable partners worldwide, are dedicated to sharing knowledge and uphold the highest professional standards.
